Keynote Speaker

Overview

About his keynote speech:

With the rapid development of information technology, the application of virtual reality (VR) technology in the field of education has gradually become a hot topic of research. This study aims to explore the effective application of virtual reality technology in College English teaching, in order to improve students’ learning interest and effect. The study first analyzes the problems existing in current College English teaching, such as the singleness of teaching mode, the limitations of large-class teaching, and the prevalence of exam-oriented education. Then, the basic principles, characteristics and current application status of virtual reality technology in the field of education are introduced in detail. Secondly, this study focuses on how virtual reality technology can solve the above problems. Specifically, a 12-week teaching tracking of 260 students in 6 classes shows that virtual reality technology provides students with a more vivid and intuitive learning experience through its immersive and interactive characteristics, thereby stimulating students’ learning interest and improving their participation. At the same time, VR technology can help teachers realize personalized teaching, meet the learning needs of different students, and enhance students’ language practice ability by simulating real contexts. In addition, this study also explores the potential challenges of virtual reality technology in College English teaching, including technology costs, teacher training, and the development of teaching resources, and proposes corresponding coping strategies. Finally, this study summarizes the application prospects of virtual reality technology in College English teaching, and suggests that future research can further explore the integration of VR technology with artificial intelligence, big data, etc., in order to build a more efficient and personalized English learning environment.
